Hello and welcome to Easy Wildflowers.
This is a work in progress. It is intended as an Identification guide to the most common wildflowers in the UK. At the time of this update (Christmas 2014) there are only about twenty flowers listed but it is my plan to have this guide working in 2015 and I am trying to make sure that I get the flowers on here before they appear in the field.
I am trying to make finding a flower as easy as possible and so I have arranged them first by colour and then according to size.
When it comes to size there is a problem. Many non-botanists would recognize that a flower head like Hogweed is in fact made up of many small flowers, so a Hogweed is smaller than a Wood Anemone even though the flower head is much bigger but how many people would know that the ray floret of a composite flower like a Dandelion is much smaller than a Buttercup? For now I think that I will treat a flower head as a single flower when I order them on the page.
To begin exploring please choose a colour from the list below and that will take you to a page showing the flowers of that colour that I have added so far. 🙂
Thank you for visiting Easy Wildflowers 🙂
This is a lovely site. The text is very informative and the photos illustrate it beautifully. I wish you all the very best as you expand it.
